It is important to note that the US pricing of the OET exam, which is US $455, is only applicable to candidates taking the exam from the United States. Indian healthcare professionals must pay the OET exam fee of AU $587.

OET Exam Cancellation Policy

Candidates who have made reservations for their OET exams may find the need to cancel their exams due to personal reasons. In this section, we will address the topics of OET fee refunds and the process of cancelling an OET exam.

OET Exam Fees Refund

Paper-based test only

Candidates who have scheduled their OET exam in the paper-delivered mode and wish to cancel must do so at least one week beforehand to be eligible for a refund.

It’s important to note that the AUD $7 online booking fee paid during the registration process will not be refunded under any circumstances.

To withdraw their OET booking, candidates need to visit the official website and log into their myOET account. There, they will find the option to ‘Withdraw’ their test booking, along with information about the refund amount they are entitled to receive.

Candidates should be aware that no refunds will be provided for withdrawals made within one week of the test. When requesting a withdrawal, candidates must withdraw the entire booking, including all subtests.

Additionally, it is important to note that once a withdrawal request has been submitted, it cannot be reversed.

Computer-Based Test Only

In response to the ongoing pandemic, the Cambridge Boxhill Language Assessment Trust, the organization responsible for conducting the OET exam, has introduced the OET-at-home test option.

However, it is important to note that currently, only two professions, medicine and nursing, are available for the computer-based format of the OET exam.

For candidates who have booked the OET exam in the computer mode, if they wish to cancel their booking and be eligible for a refund, they must cancel at least two days before the scheduled start time of their first test.

 To initiate the cancellation process, candidates need to visit the official website and log into their account, accessing their OET registration page.

From there, they are required to submit a withdrawal request for their booking. It is crucial to be aware that no refund will be provided for withdrawals or cancellations made less than two days before the scheduled test start time.

  • To begin the OET registration process, individuals need to visit the official OET website at oet.com.
  • On the upper right side of the page, they should click on the ‘Book a Test’ option. On the following page, they must enter their desired test location and click on ‘Find a Test’.
  • After choosing between the computer-based or paper-based test, they should select the appropriate test center and click on ‘Book now’.
  • In order to proceed with the OET registration process, OET test-takers must complete their profile by furnishing personal details, including their personal information, a profile photo, proof of identification, and a valid email address.
  • Subsequently, they should carefully follow the instructions to choose the OET test date and test center and proceed with their OET exam application.
  • Once the test taker has reviewed their OET test details and made any necessary adjustments, they will need to proceed to the checkout process. 
  • It is important to note that the booking closing dates vary depending on the test format. For OET on paper, bookings close 10 days before the test date.
  • For OET on the computer at a test venue or OET Home, bookings close 7 days before the test date.
